I’m sick! (of all the blogshit)

By elijerome

Seriously though, it’s 11:00pm on Thursday, I have a piece of cut garlic pressed against my bottom lip like a dip because some hippy on phishhook said its a good way to fight the flu. I think that’s what I have, or else some kind of crazy South American disease that will soon tear a hole in my stomach, releasing some kind of Uruguayan midget wolf who will terrorize the Southern Hemisphere for years to come. I have been watching a lot of X-Files lately, its on daily here and I am really enjoying it. Today was my midterm, I didn’t think I did that well on it, but I guess I did well, atleast a B I think. I don’t remember where I left off last, was it pre or post Halloween? For some reason all of my old posts were deleted, or can you guys still see them? Anyways, I’ll pick up from the weekend. On friday the last, I went to Uruguay with my program, took an hour-long ferry to get there, had lunch, rented some bicycles and rode to the beach, where I laid on my ass for five hours, stopping only once to play soccer, where in which during the first five minutes, I broke or severely sprained my right middle toe by kicking someone else’s foot by accident. It was a fun trip regardless, but I got home in time to hope to try and catch Hot Chip who were in town, but had a hard time finding info about the gig, which had in fact started 90 minutes before I walked into my pad. Oh well, I made up for it the next night.

Saturday night was Booka Shade, one of the greatest live techno bands you have never heard of. They are a duo who play live electronica, electric drums, synths etc… We got to the club at 2:30am, they didn’t go on until 4:30am, played a short, 90 minute set, then left. But the club was still packed at 6:30am, to the fucking wall, these kids love their drugs here, but as a guy who was only drinking that night, and refused to leave his front row seat for more drinks, i sobered up by 6:30, and caught a cab home soon thereafter. Sunday was a day of recovery, while Sunday night I first began to feel slightly ill. I spent this week laying low and studying for my midterm, and for wednesday night, which was Bjork.

Amazing is what it was,  the sound quality was flawless, 10 piece female orchestra, drummer, keys, 2 guys on electronic and one Reactable, which if you don’t know, look it up on youtube. The lighting, costumes, lazers and energy of the crowd made it a great night. Its funny that they do not sell alcohol at venues here unless its a bar, but the entire crowd lept to their feet halfway into the show, when the songs became a little faster and started dancing. Would that ever happen in the U.S.? Not without our $8 tap beer. I took a couple of pictures, but they don’t do it justice. It was such a spectacle for the eyes, easily one of the top 5 of all time.

Tomorrow is Friday, I plan to spend the entire day in bed, hopefully getting better as Saturday afternoon until Sunday at 6:00am is Creamfields.  Starting at 9:00pm, I got Mark Farina, then LCD Soundsystem, then Chemical Brothers, followed by John Digweed and lastly Carl Cox until the wee hours. I just hope I am well, I am going regardless, but I want to be able to Enjoy it as much as I can.

bla bla bla, thats all for now,
